It's summer, so it's Barbeque time! Syrah Day past us last week, so we thought we'd continue the celebration with this "Cooking, with Wine!" recipe for BBQ Sauce!
Pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy while you mince that garlic!
Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add garlic, cumin, chili powder, madras curry*, and paprika to the pan and stir for about a minute. *You can of course omit the curry powder, we know it's a bit odd, but it really adds a fun little pizaz to this sauce if you have it! We've listed the blend below in case you want to experiment with any of the seasonings on their own!
Place the temperature to low, add the wine and simmer for about two minutes.
Stir in ketchup, vinegar, Worchester sauce, brown sugar and soy sauce. Allow to simmer for a couple minutes.
You can cook with this immediately or allow it to refrigerate overnight to allow the flavors to really blend.
This sauce can be used on whatever you like, but we like it with chicken!
